Celebrating African Excellence: Africa Day Awards International Recognizes Edo State

The Africa Day Awards International is a prestigious platform that honours outstanding achievements across Africa and her Diaspora. Held annually in London on May 25th hosted by the Diaspora Economic Forum (DEF).
This event is set to spotlight outstanding achievements across leadership, entrepreneurship, and diaspora engagement.
This year’s Woman of Excellence Award will be presented to Dr. Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor, Director General of the Edo State Diaspora Agency. She is being recognized for her contributions to diaspora mobilization, welfare intervention, investment networking, public health advocacy, women and youth empowerment. Her work with His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, the Executive Governor of Edo State, in making Edo State people globally the Heartbeat of the Diaspora, has not gone unoticed by the international community.
The Africa Day Awards is a key feature of DEF’s commitment to advancing economic opportunities and international partnerships for Africans and friends of Africa. The 2025 event will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions on SMEs, investment, and leadership, as well as red carpet interviews and a gala dinner.
